Max Eade and Aidan MacColl will reprise their roles in Pop Off, Michelangelo!
The company is completed by Kurran Dhand (Aladdin, Royal Hippodrome Theatre) as Salai, Aoife Haakenson (Six, UK and International tour) as Mother, Sev Keoshgerian (I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical, UK Tour) as Italian Chef, Michael Marouli (Ru Paul's Drag Race UK) as Pope and Laura Sillett (Barnum, The Watermill Theatre) as Savonarola.
The show makes its West End debut following a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024 and concert performances at The Other Palace. Set to an original electropop score, Pop Off, Michelangelo tells the story of best-friends-turned-bitter-rivals Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. A bloodthirsty friar is on the hunt for homosexuals in Renaissance Italy at the exact moment when childhood friends Mike and Leo realise they both like boys. Terrified, they devise a foolproof plan to gain God's forgiveness: they simply need to become the greatest religious artists of all time.
The creative team for the production includes Choreographer: Sundeep Saini; Musical Supervisor & Orchestrations: Aron Sood; Costume Designer: Emily Bestow; Video Designer: PJ McEvoy; Lighting Designer: Adam King; Sound Designer: Ed Lewis; Casting Director: Sarah-Jane Price; Assistant Choreographer: Conn McGirr; Dramaturg: Rose Oser; Production Manager: James Anderton; General Management: Paul Virides Productions.
Pop Off, Michelangelo! will play at the Underbelly Boulevard Soho from 17 May - 22 June 2025.
