During this next month, London bids farewell to five remarkable shows that have captivated audiences throughout their runs. A diverse array of productions will be closing, including the smash-hit Heathers The Musical and the innovative new production of The Secret Garden.

Playing at @sohoplace ahead of its new UK Tour, the smash-hit musical Heathers the Musical is a high octane musical based on one of the greatest cult teen films of all time. Known for its dark humour, catchy music, and sharp social commentary on the pressures of high school life, there’s not a lot of time left to catch this production in the West End.

2. The Secret Garden

Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved tale has been brought to the stage in a new production by Holly Robinson and Anna Himali Howard. Performed in the idyllic setting of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, The Secret Garden tells an enchanting tale of transformation and renewal that is perfect for all ages.

3. Passing Strange

The Tony Award-winning rock musical follows a young, Black musician who sets out on an electrifying musical odyssey to find himself and his place in the world. Starring Olivier Award-winner Giles Terera (Hamilton), Passing Strange has been hailed by critics as “Astonishing” and “An all-out wild ride of a rock musical!”

4. Marie Curie The Musical

Centred around one of the most inspiring women in history, Marie Curie The Musical tells the story of the person who discovered the potential for curing cancer. The production premiered in London recently, following huge success overseas in Korea. Marie Curie The Musical has a sweeping score and compelling narrative that audiences will enjoy every moment of.

5. Closer to Heaven

With original music by the Pet Shop Boys, Closer to Heaven is a production which takes audiences back in time to embark on a story focused on gay romance and drug addiction. The space at Turbine Theatre has been transformed into “Vic’s Club” for the experience that has been hailed by both audiences and critics during its run.
