The Devil Wears Prada – The Story
Andrea “Andy” Sachs is a talented young writer looking to get her first job as a journalist in New York. She wants to write serious articles that will change the world, but the only job she can get is one as the second assistant to the legendary Editor of the leading fashion magazine Runway, Miranda Priestly. She's the very definition of an impossible boss but impress her and your career is made!
A total fish out of water, Andy has to adapt quickly to the cut-throat world of fashion. With a little help from her new colleagues – including style advice from flamboyant Nigel and some tough love from first assistant Emily - Andy changes her look, her attitude and even her priorities. As the demands of the devilish Ms Priestly (allegedly based on a real life iconic female fashion Editor) take over Andy's life – threatening her friendships, her relationship and her career dreams - she begins to wonder if winning Miranda over is worth it after all.

After a limited run in Chicago in 2022 and following previews at Plymouth's Theatre Royal, The Devil Wears Prada opened at London's Dominion Theatre in October 2024. It's a big venue for a big show – and you certainly can't miss it as a huge pitchfork-heeled red shoe towers over the theatre's entrance!

The Devil Wears Prada features an all-star, award-winning creative team led by music legend, Tony, Grammy and Academy Award winner Elton John (Tammy Faye, Billy Elliot: The Musical). Direction & choreography is by Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), lyrics by singer-songwriter Shaina Taub (Suffs), book by Kate Wetherhead (Ever After), set design by Tim Hatley (Life of Pi, Back to the Future), costume design by Gregg Barnes (Some Like It Hot, Legally Blonde), lighting design by Bruno Poet (The Tina Turner Musical, Frankenstein), sound design by Gareth Owen (Come From Away, & Juliet) and casting by Jill Green CDG.
The Devil Wears Prada is led by Broadway and TV royalty, Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives), slipping into Miranda Priestly's fabulous wardrobe and serving serious villain energy. She is joined by Georgie Buckland as Andy (making her West End debut), Amy di Bartolomeo (Six, Bat Out of Hell) as Emily and Matt Henry (Kinky Boots, Avenue Q) as Nigel.

Dancers were fab and great acting and singing. Ordered refreshments to seats at interval and well worth it. Toilets were busy but more than adequate. Theatre presentation reflected the production.

Not as good as the movie but entertainingYou know when you say the movie is never as good as the book? Well the stage show is not as good as the movie. Saying that, it's an entertaining night. The best character was Emily. Found the second half with the slower songs a bit boring. There are scenes with lots of flashing lights that kept hitting my eyes that I didn't like. Generally a good time but glad I didn't pay higher than the £42 I paid.
