What is Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain - The Best Bits about?
Horrible Histories was a British children’s live-action historical and musical television series, based on the bestselling books of the same name by Terry Deary. It tackled everything from world wars to deposed monarchs to invading hordes - all with its characteristic style of humour. Like the series that inspired it, the stage show will bring to life all the foul, absurd, and shocking bits of British history and cycle through the best bits of previous shows in a spectacle of song, dance and sketches that'll entertain and educate the whole family.
Horrible Histories stage creator Neal Foster stars alongside regular company member Alison Fitzjohn in this rollicking, wacky rollercoaster ride through history, featuring some of Britain’s bizarrest icons. It’s history like you’ve never seen it before, with all the nasty bits and foul facts they never taught you at school. So grab your tickets and prepare to laugh, gasp, and groan at this foul and funny stage show, opening at the Apollo Theatre this summer.

Horrible, but Wonderful and Happy, tooThis holiday show would suit parents, grand parents and also (nearly forgot) kids, too. The 2 performers show great connection with their audience - kids and oldies - the historical content is hugely enjoyable and at the same time accurately informative. Their costume and character changes were slick and unfailingly funny. Looking forward to next year.

embarrassmentAmateur. While children under five seemed to appreciate the humour my teenager and I had second hand embarrassment over the quality of the performance. Onl two actors who had to carry the entire show, no set charge, not stimulating, lame jokes. This could have been so much better. Very disappointed.

Great show that both my five-year-old daughter and I enjoyed. Slightly disappointed that it didn't include any of our favourite songs from the TV series, but can't really complain since I've had "Burke & Hare, Burke & Hare, Killing people everywhere" in my head ever since. Actors were great, some good gags for the parents too, and excellent value.

Fun for kids and adultsThis is a show aimed at children but with Easter eggs for the slightly older audience (parents/adults old enough to remember the Fast Show and Postman Pat). I think I enjoyed the show more than my 9 and 7 year old kids.
