New Shows at the Young Vic Announced Amidst Speculation About their New Artistic Director

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof The Young Vic Theatre in Waterloo have just announced a really exciting line up of theatre for the next year as appropriate to their status as one of London’s major Off West End venues, with a formidable track record.

This is the final season with their current Artistic Director, David Lan in charge. The venue has recently recruited a new leader (tba).

The West End gets Wilde!

Oscar Wilde Season After a popular and critically acclaimed time running Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Dominic Dromgoole has moved on to a new project aiming to demonstrate the power of the proscenium arch. What this describes is the traditional theatre set-up where by the audience sit in front of a stage and the action is framed by an architectural arch known as the proscenium, from an Ancient Greek term which roughly translates as “in front of the scenery”.

Natalie Dormer switches from Thrones to Fur

Venus in Fur It's been announced that Natalie Dormer, who's utterly magnificent in TV's Game of Thrones, will be returning to the stage in a new production of Venus in Fur which previously had a short but attention-grabbing run on Broadway. She'll be playing an actress who, one rainy night, bursts in on a director insisting he auditions her for the lead role in a play about sadomasochistic sex based on the 1870 novel Venus In Fur by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.
