New Musical Mrs Henderson Presents transfers to the West End

Mrs Henderson Presents New British musical Mrs Henderson Presents has announced its transfer to the West End following its recent critically acclaimed run at Bath Theatre Royal.

Adapted from the 2005 feature film of the same name, Mrs Henderson Presents will open at the Noel Coward Theatre in the New Year, with Tracie Bennett staring as the eccentric Mrs Henderson, Ian Bartholomew as Vivian Van Damm, and Emma Williams as Maureen.

Close To You - Bacharach Reimagined For some people the name Burt Bacharach conjures up a vision of soppy 1970’s elevator muzak. However for those musicians in the know, Bacharach has always been considered a legendary composer who transformed pop music with his innovative jazz rhythms and harmonies. It is therefore an absolute pleasure to see his music so thrillingly and modernly re-imagined in ‘Close to You: Bacharach Reimagined’ at the Criterion Theatre. The show was initially staged in New York and was followed by a successful run earlier this summer at the red hot Menier Chocolate Factory.

Review: THE WARS OF THE ROSES at The Rose Theatre in Kingston

The Wars of the Roses In the early nineteen sixties, according to the programme, celebrated Shakespeare directors John Barton and Peter Hall tied them selves up in knots and reached the point of nervous breakdown over adapting Shakespeare's HENRY VI trilogy into two plays.

I'm not quite sure why. I've adapted and directed them twice and although it's challenging it's not exactly working down a coal mine. Anyway they tacked a production of RICHARD III on the end, historically England’s next monarch and a continuation of the story.

Cast revealed for Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games

Lord of The Dance - Dangerous Games Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games has announced the leading cast members for its West End run at the Playhouse Theatre.

The smash-hit dance show will star West End rising star Sophie Evans and The Voice contestant Rachel O’Connor. The pair will alternate the part of Erin the Goddess throughout the run.

Mr Foote’s Other Leg transfers to the Theatre Royal Haymarket

Mr Foote’s Other Leg Ian Kelly’s stage adaptation of his own book Mr Foote’s Other Leg has announced its transfer to the West End after a critically acclaimed run at the Hampstead Theatre.

The production directed by Richard Eyre and starting Simon Russell Beale opened at the Hampstead Theatre on 27 September 2015 to rave reviews and standing ovations.
