Bonnie and Clyde The Musical – Classic crime at the Arts Theatre

Your venue is the Arts Theatre in the West End. The story? The tale of Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow, AKA Bonnie and Clyde, two of the most infamous criminals of America’s Great Depression and the subject of much speculation and fascination. The couple terrorised central USA along with their gang, robbing banks as well as small shops and funeral homes. This is their story, complete with a suite of stunning show tunes.

What's the plot of Bonnie and Clyde The Musical?

The scene is the height of the Great Depression, during the 1930s. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were nothing more than ordinary people until they met, then sparks flew. They soon became America's most renowned anti-heroes: totally fearless, completely unashamed, and utterly glamorous.

When Bonnie and Clyde met, their mutual craving for excitement and fame shot them straight into evil. Bored, broke and fed up with poverty, they decided to chase their dreams. As their reckless behaviour became more extreme, the young lovers' thrilling adventure turned into a disaster. In trouble with the law, Bonnie and Clyde were on the run, and there was nowhere to hide. They resort to robbery and murder to survive but the more infamous they become, the closer death comes.

Bonnie and Clyde’s electrifying true tale of love, adventure and crime inspired a nation. Their life story is highlighted perfectly by this show’s many rousing tunes, including Raise A Little Hell, This World Will Remember Me, and Made In America.

Who is Bonnie and Clyde The Musical for?

Bonnie and Clyde The Musical is recommended for people aged 18 and over.

Single handedly the best show on the West End. No doubt about it, nothing compares.

Every thing about it was phenomenal, the music and acting was outstanding, transports you to the time period of the story and intrigues you right off the bat. You can’t help but move with the music. The staging and effects were absolutely incredible, honestly I’ve seen the show twice now and it never gets old, never ever fails to completely astound me and give me the shivers. I always get goosebumps from Bonnie and Clyde. The cast is phenomenal, the stage crew amazing, and overall the best experience ever. Simple as. I can’t even bring into words just how amazing and astonishing the show truly is. It’s a must see. Hopefully Bonnie and Clyde will be coming back to London, I can’t bare to see them leave.

A massive show in an intimate theatre

This show really smashed our expectations, it was BRILLIANT. The actors singing voices were amongst the best I've heard from any of the shows I've seen in the past, and the show had the perfect mix of emotions. I definitely recommend this as a must see.

A great show for adults.

I enjoyed the acting and music but it is not the kind of show where I could leave the theatre humming one of the tunes. I knew about Bonnie and Clyde's life which made it easier for me to follow the story line. The sound was very clear and everyone had fantastic voices.

Brilliant, exciting, funny and truly entertaining

This musical starts with a bang, and continues with some great storytelling. The songs are excellent and were very well performed, both from the band and the musicians. A good mix of story, humour, and drama. Recommend to anyone and everyone who even just mildly enjoys musicals.

Review: BONNIE AND CLYDE at the Arts Theatre

by Stuart King | Friday, May 13 2022, 11:39

Great Depression era outlaws Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow were immortalised in the news reports of the day and subsequently in literature, songs and later still, the iconic 1967 movie starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. The Arts Theatre now plays host to the musical version of the romantic couple’s criminal exploits, which enjoyed a brief run on Broadway over a decade ago.
