Beauty and the Beast the Musical It has been a quiet few weeks, but the London's theatre district is springing back into life post-Omicron and the crowds are back in town. The nights are getting lighter, the weather's getting warmer, and the delights of the West End await you. So what's the score for this week? Announcement

Disney's Beauty and The Beast is on at the London Palladium, opening on 24th June for a strictly limited run until 17th September. This 'enchanting musical' is back once more and there's a brand new production on the cards for summer 2022. The show brings to life the much-loved animated movie and the entertainment is directed by Michael Grandage, the producer of Aladdin, Frozen, and The Lion King. There's brand new music to fall in love with plus exhilarating choreography and all the amazing visual effects you'd expect from Disney on stage.

New cast for Wicked at the Apollo Victoria

Have you seen Wicked yet? If not there's a new cast taking to the stage from 1st February 2022. Laura Pick currently plays Elphaba and Sophie Evans plays Glinda. Alistair Brammer takes the role of Fiyero and Kim Ismay plays Madame Morrible and Andy Hockley plays The Wizard. They give their final performances on 30th January 2022, replaced on 1st February by Lucie Jones as Elphaba, Ryan Reid as Fiyero, Sophie-Louise Dann as Madame Morrible, and Gary Wilmot as The Wizard.

New dates added – Moulin Rouge The Musical

Moulin Rouge at the Piccadilly Theatre has announced more dates, extending the show from May to July 2022. This production has gathered 5 Drama Desk Awards, 11 Outer Critics Circle Awards, and 14 Tony Award Nominations including Best Musical, Best Director, and Best Choreography. If you want to see Baz Luhrmann's 'revolutionary' film come to sparkling life, now's your chance. The Compere Extraordinaire Harold Zidler awaits you. Prepare for a theatrical experience rich in truth, beauty, freedom... and love.

On Sale at last! Frozen at the Drury Lane Theatre

It has been a very long wait. Finally, tickets for Frozen The Musical have finally been released and they're available now, extended beyond the show's original run at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane which was due to end in late June 2022. Now Frozen will run through to October 2022. If your children adored the film they'll be enthralled by the stage show. It's the winner of 37 awards including two Academy Awards for best animated feature and best original song for Let It Go. The show stars Samantha Barks as Elsa, Stephanie McKeon as Anna, Obioma Ugoala as Kristoff, and Oliver Ormson as Hans. Prepare to be enchanted.

Show extensions for five popular productions

It's a clear sign – if a West End show extends its run, you can guarantee it's a show worth seeing. This week we have five extensions to announce, each delivering a treat audiences are not likely to forget. Which of these appeals to you most? Maybe you want to experience them all?

  • Show extension - Jersey Boys - Trafalgar Theatre - Extends to 2nd October 2022. Don't miss the story of four ordinary men from Jersey, USA, whose unique sound entranced a generation and still delights music lovers – this is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
  • Show extension - The Play That Goes Wrong - Duchess Theatre - Extends to 2nd April 2023. Prepare your funny bone for action! This crazy production reveals the hilarious story of an amateur dramatics society's hilarious attempts to put on a play. The West End's longest running comedy, it reveals how everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong – and the results are side-splittingly silly.
  • Show extension - Mary Poppins - Prince Edward Theatre - Extends to 10th July 2022. Bring the kids along for a treat that never loses its lustre. The story of Mary Poppins is always charming, always entertaining, and the show tunes are always a delight. In turn of the century London, a magical nanny employs music and adventure to help two neglected children get closer to their father. The new nanny, Mary, proves to be magical.
  • Show extension - Les Miserables - Sondheim Theatre - Extends to 10th July 2022. It's no surprise Les Mis has extended its record run yet again. This time there's a fully-staged new production to enjoy, praised by the critics as 'Les Mis for the twenty first century'. The show has been seen by 130 million people worldwide, in 53 countries and 22 languages. Come and join them and enjoy one of the world's most popular musicals.
  • Show extension - Phantom of the Opera - Her Majesty's Theatre - Extends to 9th July 2022. The Phantom never seems to go out of style, so it's not surprising to see this theatre classic extending its run either. The effects, the music, the singing, the acting, they all combine to deliver one of the most spectacular productions in West End history. A dramatic musical romance with a difference, this is your chance to see a legendary show with perfect entertainment credentials.
