Ok, but needs a story

Don't get me wrong, the music is good, but I was expecting there to be a story rather than just a collection of songs. It was hard work in places, although the second half was full of better toe tapping songs.

Loved it!

I had some family over from the states and took them to see Thriller. It was an excellent show. The music and dancing was amazing and the singing top notch. They also got the crowd involved which was great. It was a fantastic finale to a great holiday and has inspired me to see more shows in the West End. My uncle has seen Michael Jackson live twice and said that this one was better than the real thing!! :-)

Whole thing seemed very cheap. Some average singing and dancing. No effort on sets. Felt like I was watching X factor. Much better west end stuff out there. The whole thing hangs on Michael J's songs, but they've sold him massively short with this production

Great seats some five rows from the front and very central to the stage. Very talented cast that offered a wide variety of dances and constantly kept the crowd involved. Two hours plus of fantastic memories, tunes and a massive feel good factor. GO SEE IT - YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

If you go, get front row seats if you can. The show was just amazing, it was like one big fantastic party. I have read reviews saying its not 'MIchael Jackoson' but I think it was a brilliant tribute to the man himself. Im sure he would have been very very proud. I will definitely recommend this show to my friends and family. Brilliant night out. Dancers and singers were all superb! What a night!!! You will be dancing in your seats

Enjoyable trip through the life / career of MJ.

Overall, I really enjoyed the show. The level of singing, dancing and performing is excellent. There were a few small things that were a bit annoying. You can see that some of the costumes could do with some attention and a bit of investment. Some could do with a good wash / dry clean too. The theatre PA could also do with being updated as the restricted frequency was extremely evident. The switching between backing track and live band is distracting and you would really prefer band all the time. There are a few songs that appear lip-synced too but obviously because of the strenuous dance routines. David Jordan is the shining star of the show (and a star anyway) for me and a real tribute to MJ. I'd definitely go again next time I need that MJ fix.

The show was very good although notwhat I expected. I imagined that there would be someone (or a few people) assuming the character of Michael Jackson whereas instead it was more of a concert of some wonderful singers, singing his songs. The dancers were fantastic. However, I was disappointed that the main dancer who completely looked and moved like MJ, was miming! I did enjoy the show and the talent was amazing, just wasn't what I expected. I also found it strange seeing the female vocalist sing the songs, although her voice is brillinat! Overall, definitely worth a visit.

I have seen it twice, first as a couple and with my teenage son, both times were great. Make sure to book a stall seat. Balcony seat feels like a spectator which ruined my second show

This is the most vibrant fast paced west end show I have ever seen.The music speaks for itself but the dancing and acrobatics were outstanding,a great family show that leaves feeling revitalised and when you lesve the theatre you know you have seen something really special.

The males were more sleezy than anything. The main "michael jackson " guy didnt even sing and could only moonwalk all over the floor. appauling show. The show was absolutely amazing. It was like going to see a Michael Jackson gig! The acting, singing and dancing were so professional it only felt like we were there for about 30mins. We couldn`t believe we were actually there for over 2 hours!! It was great how the cast involved the audience which added to the show being one of a kind. An absolute must to go and see. You won`t be disappointed, its worth every penny!!

The show was great! Would have been a better experience if my view of the upper stage was not restricted. I purchased one of the lowest priced tickets knowing that maybe I'd be far away from the stage but not knowing that certain parts of the show i would only be able to see the feet of the performers. What a wonderful show! I went not knowing what to expect, and was completely blown away by the talent on stage. Don't expect a story to accompany the songs (like with Mamma Mia or We Will Rock You) - Thriller Live! only has one interest: to showcase the incredible talent of Michael Jackson! The choreography was spectacular and songs were done in different styles to keep everyone entertained! There was wonderful audience participation and I'm proud to say that I was clapping and dancing on my feet by the end of the show. A few of the video clips shown felt a little cheesy for my liking, but the overall energy was incredible. Long live Thriller Live!

Thriller misses a beat or two

There were some outstanding performers in the show but some of the singers were quite average. Spreading the songs amongst so many singers made it difficult to identify with Michael Jackson and his work. The show certainly warmed up towards the end. went to the lyrics theatre to see 'thriller live' (it was a surprise bday prezzie for my partner) and it was brilliant, the perform was amazing, they had some serious talent and i was singing along and clapping my hands all the way thru! my partner also love it and to quote him "this was the best bday present EVER!" i just wish i couldve got up and danced, but im not sure the people sat behind me wouldve apreciated that, lol! i absolutely loved it and would recommend that everyone, especially M.J fans such as myself n my partner, would go to see it! a BIG well done to all the singers, performers, band and all the behind the stage people who made the show a success! FANTASTIC SHOW!!

Would only recommend to people who like Michael Jackson/Jacksons songs. There is no story. Though die-hard fans would be disappointed, as only one look- a-like and hardly any Jackson 'moves' until second half. Suggest, get more look-a-likes that can dance, and sing, like the opening act, as this is basically a showcase of Jackson songs. Stand out performer, Haydon Eshun and best dancer and look-a-like David Jordan.

Whilst I enjoyed the show, the first half left me confused to what it was trying to be. I enjoyed the second half much more but it is just the songs and music of MJ that carries it. A lot of the dancing was poor except for the MJ impersonator and all the singers were good but the miming was disappointing. I got reduced price tickets price so I felt I'd paid a fair price, however that would not be the case if I'd paid the full amount.

What a fab show!

Watched the show yesterday, thoroughly enjoye it, enjoyed the audience interaction! The song were fabulous, the young Michael was fabulous even though he was visibly nervous, he should embrace his talent! If you don't like audience interaction this is not the show for you, don't go to a wonderful show and sit and be miserable and look down on people having a good time! This was not a musical, there was no story there whatsoever (not event attempt to create one) just a group of dancers and singers performing Michael Jackson's songs (some sung and danced really well, other boring to watch). If it was sold as Michael's Jackson sing along tribute I would say it was good. But I bought a ticket for a musical and was very disappointed

I think the vocals where not great but what I found strange was that there was a women singing most of the songs and 3 different guys singing michaels songs and another micheal who dances.

The seats where in the stalls we paid £62.50 and could see great someone talk sat infront of me what a shame. I think for that money my seats should have been well vissable. My little girl could not see at all and they don't not have any pillows to lift her slightly up for her to see. The service was terrible. I paid for a good seat and I could not see.

Was ok at times lots of fun but slowed in the middle. Also we couldn't sit in our seats as we wer a couple of mins late as waiting at the bar and people were sat in our seats. Others arrived after us and had the same problem.

The young Michael Jackson supposed lookalike singer/dancer can't. The singing failed to sustain the notes or stay in key; the dancing definitely lacked verve, pizzaz or anything out of the ordinary. All in all the young boy portraying MJ was a totally dissapointing in his abilities. The only scene that was good was the actual Thriller song. The costume/clothing used for all Michael Jacksons - even if you look close at that on the brochure cover - look as if they have been pulled from a rag bag jumble sale. pathetically poor looking - unlike MJ's clothing. The dancing, singing left a lot to be desired and generally I thought the whole thing a dishonour to Michael's abilities indeed. The music was good, singing not bad either.

We took 2 young fanatic Jackson fans who loved the show. The first half was not the best for a 10 and 14 year old as it included a lot of mj early stuff which I didn't even know! Despite this the music costumes and ESP the dancing really made this enjoyable for all whether you knew all of the songs or not. Plus the kids enjoyed a little dance at the seats while they laughed at us adults having a go! A great thing to do on snowy Sunday!

Average tribute show

Thriller didn't blow me away as i expected it to, especially considering the amazing atmosphere usually created by MJ's music. I thought the costumes could have had more thought put into them as this was something MJ himself was passionate about. In general the dancers were great but a couple of the female dancers looked like they had been made to go on the stage and lacked enthusiasm.

The show was extremely enjoyable. Obviously the music was great. The singers did a fabulous job. It is not a show in the vein of Les Mis, or phantom, so anyone looking for that might be disappointed. However if you love Michaels music and you enjoy dance then you will enjoy this show. Some fantastic singers, some amazing dancers. Entertaining throughout the entire show, no boring bits. I did read some negative reviews before I went and was a little unsure but very glad I went. You know the old saying " you can please some of the people some of the time etc "

This show seemed very low budget and reminiscent of a school play. The costumes, not unlike the "narrative", were unimaginative and everything about the show seemed like it was quickly hashed together to make a quick buck off the back of some excellent familiar songs. Might be good for teens but I'd avoid spending mobey on this unless you really really like MJ of lip syncing

On the whole we enjoyed the music and the memories they gave however the performances were very mismatched. The male dancers and singers were fab although the commentary was unecessary and quite nauseating. The female lead singer was excellent however the girl dancers were absolutely awful. To the point when even our young daughters were laughing at their complete lack of ability , enthusiasm. A couuple in particular just looked like they were strolling round the stage until something better came along. I cannot understand how they are still in the show when there are so many talented dancers out there just begging for work. The simple staging and lack of any change in this meant the focus was completely on the performers and so this emphasized the poorer performers even more. Having said that the 5 main Michael Jackson performers were excellent. I left disappointed that this could have been so , so much better though. What a missed opportunity

Thriller, Children In Need Special

Loved this, only went because Joe McElderry was a special guest for Children In Need but I'm now looking forward to taking the whole family for a night out. Such a fun show!

The opening to the show was very disappointing, a bit sparse on actors, and there was some technical problems i think, but the 2nd half was great and we were all dancing at the end. I also had a very large tall man sit right in front of me which was annoying as i had to keep moving to get a view, opt for a tiered seat rather then stalls, iam only 5ft 6.

the music was good, but the links were poor and there was no real story. I dont know what i was expecting but it was a little more than i got, Having said all that it was still entertaining as i love the songs

Thriller at the Lyric

Thriller at the Lyric was very good. The music speaks for itself but it was very well sung by the Company. There were one or two that shone more especially for me. Although I would recommend the show to anyone I would advise those who are sensitive to strobe lighting to be aware of this. The Lyric as a theatre is a little on the tired side. Stairs leading to the balcony is a little Victorian and the bar in the balcony area could do with a refurb.

Very Dissappointing show

Show is not as good as other west end shows. I was very disappointed. The 2nd half of the show was better but i wouldn't go again. The dancing was quite provocative too especially with kids in the audience. We got cheap tickets thankfully as i would not pay full price

Well worth avisit

We were in the balcony and at times we could not see the actors when they were at the back of the stage on a raised platform. Choose more expensive seats if you can. More rigorous monitoring of mobile phone use by patrons is needed. I had to ask 2 wowmen to stop texting/facebooking. It was very distracting. Otherwise a fab vibrant show. We have used this website and would do so again.

A brilliant show the first half started very slow and it was hard to see when it was going to take off but take off it did , and how,a brilliant show .Singing was really spot on as was the reast of the show If you want a great night out this is a must.Even the dancers stood out as being really great performers

Thrilled by Thriller

The music, choreography, dance, scenes, acting and lighting were all brilliant. The singing was amazing. I'm not a devout MJ fan, liked the music but have very little of it in my collection. However, I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this show. So for MJ fans, this would be a dream! We were on the first row of the balcony and had an excellent view of the stage, Superb!

No real story to the show. A few mistakes and pitching issues with the male singers. Lighting was a bit too dark at points so it was hard to see what was happening on stage. A bit too much gyrating from the dancers at times. Some of the moves were a bit behind the music. Didn't think it was worth the money.

This was our wedding anniversary treat and my wife and I were really excited about the show, it was our first time and we thought it was fantastic, it was very good value for money, we paid around 60quid for 2 balcony tickets, but would advise to pay a few quid more for the dress circle these were the very good viewing seats, which we descended to after the show started and there were many empty seats.you can do this only of course after the show starts and there are vacant seats. the bar is adequete although mega expensive, £4.00 for a half of cider, but it's the west end I guess. we also had 2 for one on early cocktails in the PENTHOUSE, at no 1 Leicester Square, just 2 minutes on the same side as the Lyric theatre, amazing views from the balcony supping mojito's overlooking the west end life rushing by.go see this see , Im not into Jackson, but you could not help moving your feet.great night out and would go again to take our kids.

It was 3rd time to see the show yesterday, Thriller never let me down everytime. I recommend for everybody even people doesn not know Michael Jackson or Jackson5. Singing, dancing, costumes are super2 good. Thriller is my Vitamin C which give me always positive energy. My mind is singing and dancing. Michael is THE KING OF POP!!! Thriller is the best of the best!

The quality of the singing and dancing was absolutely fanastic, no doubt as ever London West End has talent in abudance, you cannot help but enjoy this production particularly for the slightly older generation who were brought up dancing in the disco's to Michael Jackson classics.

Overall, Thriller-Live was a good show, but I would not care to see it again, nor would I rush to tell people they 'must see it'. We were expecting ONE Michael Jackson impersonator (save for the young Michael) and got several. One was even Chinese--not to put down the Chinese at all--but he was far from a look-alike/sound alike. Sometimes, even a girl sang the songs which was disappointing. She was a great singer, performer, but we felt she simply shouldn't have been singing Michael's songs. The young man 'Blaise' was good, but often came in flat or monotone--not nearly the high expectations we had hoped for. The shoes throughout were nearly always trainers, which we simply didn't understand as to why. They were white and silly. The costumes seemed very low-budget--they looked more like they were picked up at a fancy dress shop. The dancing girls often wore costumes that were in no way Jackson-esque stage attire--they seemed a bit too much like cheerleaders. Smooth Criminal and Beat It were performed to high standards, costumes, music, dance and all! If for no other reason, those two songs would be what is well worth seeing the show for. Those two songs/performances were certainly the highlight and worth seeing. If only the other songs were done to the same standards! The backing band was good--the guitarist even came out on stage and did a good performance of Eddie Van Halen and then Slash. If I were to make changes to the show, I would continue with one Michael (plus the young Michael), get stronger costumes, not have a girl sing his songs, get rid of the narrator (this was annoying and unnecessary and also redundant when the screen in the background flashed record sales and such, of Michael's success. Michael is RECENT--most fans have not/will not quickly forget his success and it almost seemed demeaning to have to 'tell the audience'). The energy level was high and we have to hand it to the performers for seemingly giving it their all. It's a good show--but for anyone who thinks they're going to get a night of 'the best Michael Jackson impersonator in London/the world', they are sadly mistaken. It all was more of a tribute/pop idol type of show. It was good and entertaining, but by no means was it great. No one can compare to Michael--no one expects any performer to be able to--but we had hoped that ONE Michael impersonator could have come half-way. The young man that did Smooth Criminal and Beat It, was by far the best choice and his dancing abilities were great. Go see it, but don't get floor seats--it's not necessary to spend the price on great seats.
